Septimania was the western region of the Roman province of Gallia Narbonensis that
passed under the control of the Visisgothic kingdom in 462, when Septimania was ceded to Theodoric II, king of the Visigoths. It corresponds roughly with the modern French region of Languedoc
It stayed Septamanie until it became part of France in the 12th century. And became known as the LAND
OF THE CATHAR !!
